That place of peace, of solitude, the sense of direction, I know where my goals should be. I can't express in words, it's too much. There is definitely joy in my heart, in my soul."

"The devil knows he has lost a soul who perseveringly practices mental prayer... He who neglects mental prayer needs not a devil to carry him to hell, but he brings himself there with his own hands."
-St. Teresa of Avila

"Mental prayer is morally necessary for salvation... All saints became such through mental prayer."
-St. Alphonsus Ligouri

"In mental prayer, the soul is purified from its sins, nourished with charity, confirmed in faith, and strengthened in hope; temptation is conquered, sadness dispelled; drooping powers revive... inflamed with the fire of divine love."
-St. Peter of Alcantara

“SOCA is unique in its blend of zeal, authentically Catholic mysticism, and practicality, to form the next generation of Catholic lay apostles and Catholic leaders. All are called to holiness, which is the source of fruitful apostolic activity . . . "

“Souls of the Christian Apostolate has a unique and extremely important mission in today’s world. The human person longs for connection at the deepest and most spiritual levels of their being. SOCA offers an opportunity for Catholics, and other Christians of Good Will, to tap into the richness of our Catholic mystical tradition."

“SOCA – Souls of the Christian Apostolate— is among the honest and enthusiastic efforts in the Church today to contribute to the all-important work of Evangelization, sowing the seed of the Gospel in people’s hearts, and thereby to bring our world to Jesus, the Lord of Life. I must say, SOCA sought me out and in doing so caught me pleasantly by surprise. This group is both solid and genuine; it speaks to our times. Men and young men, in particular, need a challenge, while being offered solid Catholic nourishment rooted in our best tradition. Take a closer look at SOCA and if you have not yet encountered Dom Jean-Baptiste Chautard’s The Soul of the Apostolate, treat yourself to one of the classic books on the spiritual life.”

"SOCA impacted my faith journey through the practice of meditation, mental prayer, and in being supportive to make resolutions in prayer to be more in communion with God. The quote that was constantly recited and will remain is, 'and when we receive the bread of heaven, Jesus is with us and we can receive joy amidst affliction. I am glad to have experienced meetings that bring about perspective on developing virtue, learning to be willing to pray through the distractions and for the aim of being in union with God."

"Your ministry has made a major impact in my life. It's something that others need, this needs to be shared. I'm so grateful for everything SOCA has done for my life. I see God's fingerprints on it, I'm just awestruck. I don't know where I would be without you guys. That place of peace, of solitude, the sense of direction, I know where my goals should be. I can't express in words, it's too much. There is definitely joy in my heart, in my soul."

“SOCA's formation and content really impacted me. I woke up a totally different person today, what a blessing! I actually didn't get mad at myself for the constant distractions in my prayer life. Today I was in control, I asked Mary and my guardian angel for support. I encountered their constant love pulling me back into the interior life!"

"SOCA pulls knowledge and wisdom from the Saints in a condensed format which is easy to follow, to discuss with others, and then, most importantly, to implement mental prayer as a way of life."

Those seeking to go deeper in the faith but have never learned or read about mental prayer. Conversation with Christ is the perfect book for this because it is intended for beginners and doesn't get complicated. The later part of this stage is for those who have learned about mental prayer but have become lukewarm about it or are lacking conviction that this is the key solution for renewal in our own lives and that of the Church. Associated reading: The Soul of the Apostolate, Divine Intimacy.
Daily essentials for building prayer habits and ordered lifestyle. Customizable template included.
Conversation with Christ, The Soul of the Apostolate, Divine Intimacy, and other devotional topics.

Those who have been doing mental prayer consistently as a daily habit (6-12+ months) and have a deep conviction the interior life of prayer is the "one thing necessary" in our own lives and that of the Church. From this you are ready to learn about what your next step to advance is: contemplation. This doesn't mean you are experiencing this, but it is very helpful to know what the progression in mental prayer is. It is important to be receptive to contemplation and rather than being surprised by it, know that it is actually common in the spiritual roadmap.
Customizable template included with emphasis on building holistic spiritual discipline including increased sacraments and detachment/mortification.
Common Mystic Prayer, Three Conversions in the Spiritual Life, Introduction to the Devout Life, among other devotional reading.

Once you've learned about contemplation and consistently disposed yourself for it (6-24+ months), it is helpful to know what comes next. In the beginning, contemplation is faint and subtle; but it advances to the "prayer of union" which can be intense and requires an deliberate cooperation with God's will to love Him more by uniting yourself to His Will in living His mission for your life. There is very little writing that exists on this key link between the advancement to the prayer of union and mission so we recommend Month 1 for everyone. It is important here to remember a number of things. First, asceticism must be maintained along with our spiritual disciplines. Second, we must cling all the more to the Humanity of Jesus as our guide when we are not in spurts of contemplative prayer (both in allotted times for prayer as well as in keeping the presence of God throughout the day). Third, the prayer of union is not a guarantee or necessity for advancement to union with God; this prayer is a gift that acts like a "short cut" to the self-death required for advancing to union with God; but the end in mind is the state of continually being in union with God in our will, not mystical graces. Fourth, this transition is one where our previous emphasis was thinking about primarily our own soul alone in order to grow in holiness; now, our growth in holiness depends on our cooperation with fulfilling God's calling to mission in our lives as members of His Mystical Body Who's aim is the salvation of souls. The first two points are covered in Month 1; the third point is covered in Months 2 & 3.
Customizable template included. Emphasis on advanced growth including in-depth examination of conscience, practice of the presence of God, and receptivity with inspirations from the gifts of the Holy Ghost.
I Want to See God, I am a Daughter of the Church, The Sanctifier, among other spiritual theology texts.

You are 5x more likely to establish a habit with accountability. Plus, based on our experience, we are so confident you'll be satisfied that we give a 30 day money back guarantee with no questions asked!
We have a cost for our membership as a tangible, concrete way to have real commitment to oneself and to God. From our perspective, a guaranteed deeper connection with God is worth more than its weight in gold–that’s why we personally have dedicated our lives to this.
The cost also covers the cost of our staff labor.
The average American spends over $800 a month on recreational luxuries like coffee, going out, entertainment, physical trainers, etc. So we encourage everyone to assess how much they are investing in such things as compared to a guaranteed path to union with God.
That said, this is why we offer a lower tier option at a minimal cost.
With the community, it feels easy, enjoyable, and even fun. Very different than being isolated.
Further, we've done the work and distilled thousands of hours of study and experience to give you a clear, simple, and easy roadmap anyone can follow with done-for-you templates and 1-1 quick-and-easy setup.
Realistically it is only a couple hours of your time a month that will ignite your spiritual life (which will likely actually help you stop wasting time, in fact).
Further, it is built to be flexible with your schedule whatever your state of life.
Both of these are great! We provide spiritual friendship where you get specific accountability and a concrete roadmap that is usually not a part of spiritual direction or small groups. So they are complementary one to the other. Think of the accountability similar to a gym or diet accountability friend.
We see multiple benefits still! 1) Community with other leaders/directors. 2) Receive inspiration and a path to share in your leadership capacity. 3) Stay accountable yourself. 4) Opportunity to lead within SOCA groups after a year of exposure.
At the heart of the problems facing the modern world is souls with holes for God. The interior life (and the practice of mental prayer) is the way to fill souls. Our vision is if just 1% of believers practiced this daily, the world and Church would change overnight. Our mission is therefore 1) to raise awareness about the interior life of prayer, and 2) to help people commit to the practice. This often entails practical guides, challenges, and communal accountability. Our team is made up of lay outreach coordinators and we operate out of Denver with disciples across the world.
Some things to note about SOCA...
helped over 4000 commit to mental prayer in 2024
dozens of vocations as fruit of the work
helped raise awareness about the interior life to over 100,000
inspired by writings of the saints (esp. St. Teresa of Avila)
7+ years of experience distilling 2,000+ years of wisdom
